I knew the switch from mostly-home-mom to full-time teacher would be a big one.
I didn't know it would knock me off my feet and leave my head spinning for a few weeks.
I knew I would like teaching and like the kids.
I didn't know that teaching was just a small part of my job and that sometimes the job is heartbreaking.
I knew my blog would fall from my "do now" list.
I didn't know that each time I'd attempt to begin a new post, something else would have to be done first.
And I know that I'm adjusting to the new normal and am already getting into the routine of everything.
I'm excited to be contributing to Kari's (artsy mama) Best Halloween Ever Blog and participating in the Sweet & Sinister Swap again. I'll be sharing my tutorial here and can't wait to start gathering some black and white supplies...including the all-black package of sewing notions I thrifted.
Obligatory crafting is just what I need to get me back on track.
I'm usually exhausted the whole month of September just readjusting to back-to-school and this is my 23rd year of teaching!
Blessings,
Lorilee

I can't imagine what the re-entry must be like. It's great that you are still carving out some creative time for yourself and I'm sure before too long you will be back in the groove!

ah yes, the beginning of school . . . *definitely* not just you. It does get better though. Something about the beginning is just hectic and tiring. Kelly

I just started back teaching full time after being home with my twins for 5 years. I like getting paid and I like working most of the time, but I miss the days when my days with the kiddies were free and didn't have to be scheduled! Plus all this working really cuts into the crafting time! Hang in there!

I'm getting a job too...
Will life ever return to normal?
You make the best Halloweeen.

I love to see rick rack is making a comeback! We are using it more and more in interior design elements.
