My kids make wish lists for Christmas. They are pretty elaborate with drawings and fancy lettering...sometimes a ranking like "really want" or something. So I cut out a picture from the latest Anthropolgie catalog and made a one-item "Mom's Wish List". It didn't go over so well...a butter dish? what's a butter dish? why do you need a butter dish?
But you guys understand, right?
Bless your heart - I totally understand. (And I hope you get the dish - it's adorable.)

Oh, that is so cute!! You could also keep diamond jewelry in it!

Definitely.
And even as I was looking at it, I was momentarily confounded by my attraction... but still it is undeniably desirable. One should not overanalyze The Wish List.

I completely understand. I think my Sweet Hubby is just now starting to understand that I like things that he thinks make strange gifts and that he should get them anyway.

Oh absolutely! Especially that butter dish. It's absolutely beautiful! The moment I saw it in the catalog, I melted.

I just email them links. All my links this year were either Anthropologie or Ikea.
I get the same reactions.

That is really, really cute. I've got to start looking at those Anthropologie e-mails instead of just deleting them. My daughter is very helpful and includes website links with her wish list.
