I read an article last week that talked about how, right now, it's cool to save money. OK...so now I'm cool? I'm sure the article was not talking about saving about $6 on a magazine but that small amount makes me happy.
I've shared this before but more than a few of you were surprised to hear it so it's worth repeating. You can use the percent-off coupons at fabric stores on books and magazines. And, since they usually carry the Somerset publications, it's a good way bring the price down to a number that's a little easier on the debit card. I bought Apron-ology last week...so cool to see some blog friends in there and the art apron by Rebecca Sower has hatched some ideas in my head that I can't wait to try.
I love that some places do that. Alas our Hancocks fabrics does not issue coupons in that way and our local craft stores exclude magazine and books from their coupons. Waaaaaaaaaaa

I love this tip, but have difficulty puttng into practice in my area, too. Michael's just changed their policy so that magazines and books are excluded (foiling my plan to stock my girl up on American Girl book/kits at Christmas). And Jo-Ann's will allow it, but only when they are not on sale, and so far they have always been discounted 10%. Curses.
Thanks, though:)

Hi, Julie! How is school going? I am pleased to see that you are still posting pretty often. Yay!
In my area, the stores no longer allow you to use coupons on mags. Darn! I tried at Joanne's and Michaels. Perhaps I should check out A.C. Moore.

Ain't it great to finally be cool. I was never one of the cool kids in school so I figure it's about time I get my turn :o)
In our area we have a used bookstore that carries non-fiction and hardbacks as well as CD's, DVD', VHS, audio books and tapes, as well as video games. It's called Ed McKays and it's one of my favorite haunts. I recently found a copy of Warm Fuzzy's there for $6. I blogged about a book buying spree that I had recently that cost me a total of .75 cents, retail they would have cost me over $65.

Thank you for the cookie recipe below. I'm always looking for cookies to be made with cutters, as we have a great collection. Well, around 30 different cookie cutters. My latest purchase was a skull! It's fun with children, making cookies in endless shapes.

mmmmm...love that fabric, and if I could get my sewing machine to work properly I'd totally love to create some stuff. I'll have to look here for inspiration!
