At their request, I taught my kids how to crochet last year. They were champion chain stitchers...a little obsessed with it. My older son learned to turn the corner and actually do some crochet stitches. We did not move much beyond that but, now that football season is underway, I think I will help them get started again. What is it about football and crafting that go together so well?
I received a copy of Tiny Yarn Animals featuring adorable crochet animals created by Tamie Snow at RoxyCraft. My kids got one look at the book and started making plans for what they want to make. I have read and re-read the directions and I am completely lost. I'm sure this is one of those it's-easier-to-do-than-read-about kind of things but I'm still very, very lost. I'm also sure if my husband saw me making these it would lead to a discussion about "re-entering the work force".
So...I would love to send this book to a new home before my kids get their hands on it again. This is not so much a giveaway but rather a passing along of a book from one friend to another. If you have the talent and patience to try these little critters, I'd love to send you the book. Just leave a comment and I'll randomly pick someone tomorrow night (Friday...9-ish).
...just yelled to my youngest to give a number between 1 and 7 and she picked 1... and that is TheGypsysDaughter. The book is on its way!
I also wanted to pass along a link to a giveaway hosted by Carrie at Little Ruffled Feathers for three knit scarflettes to wear this fall...they are pretty (orange!).
I've been wanting to try my hand at amigurumi for awhile now!

How cute! If you, being a pro, is having a hard time getting the directions, I don't know that I'll be able to do it. But I'd definitely love to give it a try!

I love to crochet and I've been itching to make those adorable little amigurumi critters but just haven't had any luck sourcing patterns in my neck of the woods :( your book looks just like what I've been searching for.

I'm a teacher - online looking for ideas for a "creature feature" class - I'd love to try this out.
