I recently had a little shopping spree with a Michael's gift card. At this point, I'm more of "collector" of sewing books than an actual user but that's a change I hope to make....soon. But the stack of Amy Butler paper? Now, that I can make something with.
The pretty two-sided paper makes perfect matchbook notecards. I scored the paper at about 1" from the edge, folded it over, inserted a nice smooth card stock, and then zig-zag stitched the card stock into place. I managed to break a sewing needle doing this. Raise your hand if you didn't know you had to change the sewing machine foot before doing a zig-zag stitch. What? Just me?
I first saw paper globe ornaments in my Martha Stewart Kids magazine and have made them at a few classroom Christmas parties...the kids are always amazed at how it works. For instructions, check this Recycled Ornaments How-To. One small change I made for the school kids was to include one strip of paper printed with the name of the school and the year.
It was a challenge to photograph the ornaments but I tried. I remembered that everything looks better with milk glass so I set them inside a couple of small dishes....they look like a little king and queen.
those ornaments are lovely!as are your photos:) have a nice day

cute cute! I love both of the projects. Those ornaments are something I have to remember to make this year.
I don't have to switch the foot on my machine... ? How strange!

funny! when I glanced at your title more than once, I thought it said "fun with a paper SACK". I just went back to my reader and thought, "hmm . . . I didn't see a paper sack". Closer look . . . Oh! a paper STACK! Have a good day! Kelly
