different containers
Do you ever see these bread tube things (from The Pampered Chef) at thrift stores? I always see them and found a bunch of them still in their wrappers at my mother-in-law's church sale this summer. I brought them home to use as "cookie" containers for a cookie exchange I have with my friends. All I did was place the cookies in a roll of parchment paper, stuffed them in the bread tubes, and tied on some vintage postcards with baker's twine. Cute & easy...two of my favorite things.
Tomorrow is St. Nicholas Day and it is the day that I put up our Christmas Tree. There's no particular reason for that day...it's just the answer I give my kids when they start seeing other Christmas Trees and ask where ours is and I'm still thinking "It's December already?". Last year I put our tree in a big galvanized bucket and loved it and am going to use it again this year. Check it out here.

I love the bucket idea!! That's why I blog, so many new ideas!
I think I might even have a Pampered chef tube also. Now to go hunt!

Your tubes o' goodies are ADORABLE! Gawd, you are like Martha's twin. I would have never thought of using those. I always use a dumb paper plate (I'm lazy). You've inspired me to get creative.

What a GREAT idea for the cookie tins. I see these all the time at Goodwill and have a couple sitting in my pantry unused. Thanks for the idea!

Your packaging idea is brilliant and wonderfully unique.
We celebrate St. Nicholas Day, too. Our tree goes up tomorrow in honor of the day.

That is such a great idea! Sometimes I have a hard time looking at something and imagining a creative use for it. I love seeing ideas like this.
