thrifty october
I found this hand-embroidered owl at my thrift store this month...it's perfectly stitched on muslin and mounted on a big 16x20 board. It seems like something that might have been in a school classroom. I'm working on getting a frame big enough for it and think it will look cute somewhere in my house. I also found some other hand-embroidered pretty things...
I know it is only October but I'm going to go ahead and declare this my "thrift score of the year". It is some kind of crazy quilt made with great vintage fabrics with each piece outlined in embroidery and then finished in the coolest olive green trim. The weirdest part is that I bought two of these...one large and one slightly smaller. Are they a baby and doll quilt set? Is one supposed to go on the back of the sofa and the other on the back of a chair? I don't know but I'll come up with something.
I would definitely say that qualifies as the thrift score of the year! Great stuff! xo, suzy

Thrift score of the year, early Christmas, whatever you want to call it, you're lucky! It is so cute and really makes you wonder about the time and effort that goes into some of these thrift store finds. At least they are now with someone that will truly appreciate them.

Oh I LOVE the owl and the little verse! The quilt is beautiful! I agree with Lisa, now they have a good home where they are appreciated!
