something new
I usually read before I go to sleep...a book, a decorating magazine, or, in this case, my new Foof-A-Life idea book. The book features a lovely wall hanging created by Teresa McFayden using the cover from an old hardcover book. As I drift off to sleep I'm thinking..."I do have my man-hands crop-a-dial...what books do I have to use?". I woke up the next day and made these. Front...
...and back (I always have to finish the back of things)
Since I'm having an "orange" month here on the blog, I picked a couple of books with orange on their covers. I just love these little things...so simple and cute. I am participating in at least one craft show in the next few months and I think these might be good for that...plus, they are fun to make and I wouldn't mind making lots.
And...you know it's a short leap for me to take an idea and go here...
I created these using the back covers of the Little Golden Books. The books are the perfect size for some of my sewing patterns.
And, finally, because I had all of my orange sewing pattern things out, I made this big 11x14 collage. I have several pattern book pages that have these simple drawings and think they are so cool...this one would be perfect in a simple black frame. The pattern page says "How they love to float about in their Mother-Daughter Muu-Muus! A Dream for at-home or sleep wear"...giggle.

Did you find Foof a Life locally or did you buy it on the net? I keep meaning to see if I can buy it locally somewhere...

Haha, should read the whole thing first too, shouldn't I? Which craft show are you doing?

Oh dear, books from that series of children's books (Happy Days I think they're called) are collector's items here, the vintage ones I mean. And they have to be Finnish translations. I love the illustrations in those books. So charming. That pattern-thingie with the mum in a large nightie is wonderful.

Those are really fun! I was in the basement of a thrift store the other day and saw books like that and vintage patterns. Everything made me think of you! I kept thinking, Julie would know what to do with all of these treasures!
