an inspiration book

Img_1424_edited1 Like everyone else, I get quite a few magazines and am always tearing pages out for "later"...but putting them together in some sort of form just never seems to happen.   When I saw this vintage pleasure post about inspiration books, I loved it...thrifty, easy, and cute.  I bought a book at the thrift store (it's a nice new one with those "uneven" page edges), removed the dust jacket, and added a pretty paper to cover the binding.  And the best part...did you know that a crop-a-dial will punch through a book cover?  I punched a hole in the front and back covers and added a big eyelet.  I don't have a ribbon in it yet but, when the book is full, I can tie it closed.

Img_1425_edited1 After putting the outside together, I went through my pile of  loose "inspirations" and glued them into the pages of the book....no filing system, no order...just a little surprise on every page.

Love your inspiration book idea. Right now my magazine clippings, etc are inside a vintage wicker picnic basket. I sit and dig through when I need a little comfort boost.
I really like your litle suitcase. Very intriging.

this is such a great idea - thanks for bringing it to our attention! what a great way to use old books and frame all the inspiration! i do happen to have a binder with pages already organized, but i think i'm going to try this idea, too!

oh i love that. i must do that. i must i must. lol.

oh, that IS a great idea! I've been keeping my inspiration clippings in 3-ring binders, with pretty paper on the cover & binding.

is the photo of yourself a new addition? it's nice to see you!

It's a great idea! Just like Tracy, I have 3-ring binders chock full of things.

Did you make the suit case also? If you did can you take a picture to show all of what is inside. That, is a great idea!! I looks great in a room and has a secret purpose inside! I like it!

I love the clippings book! I started one last year and have been slowly adding bits and pieces to it. Sometimes i paint the page so the words barely peek through. You can do several at a time and use freezer paper between pages so they wont stick! Love the new picture!

I just found your site and I am in love....I have a "girl crush" on you. Love the blog and will visit often.

Here's another vote for seeing the inside of the suitcase of mystery!

What a fun idea! I rip things out of magazines all the time, only to imediately lose them.

I love your book and that page in your photograph is very inspiring! I have 3 different books for inspiration. I think I have a problem...

I have a couple inspiration notebooks, too ... haven't looked through them in awhile and will have to pull them out again. I just used a couple spiral-bound notebooks, but I love the idea of using a regular old book ... seeing the words behind the pics is so fun!

your book is adorable. i just recently bought a book to do the same thing. i have all of my pictures torn out of magazines just waiting to be pasted.

I have that papercraft suitcase picture too. That is like 6 years old now .. but it still loks like a great idea to me.
