dog days
I've shared plenty of cat love here (like here and here...and that's not even counting our cat Nancy). But, since we are in the "dog days", I'd like to share a little about our dog Chubbie.
We've had Chubbie for about 5 years. He came to live with us when an elderly neighbor couple could no longer take care of him and...yada, yada, yada...he joined our family. I wasn't really wild about his name and tried to get the kids to change it. "How about Charlie or Cubbie?". It didn't matter what name I suggested...the result was always the same. A blank stare...a blink...and a "...but his name is Chubbie". So Chubbie he stayed and then chubby he became...changing from 45 lbs. when we got him to 65 lbs. the following year. With the three kids, he pretty much gets all of the food and treats he can steal from them.
I've had the little dog figures way longer than we've had Chubbie. The one is a little vase that even I can arrange a few little flowers in.

Chubbie looks like a sweetheart!

Nice to meet you, Chubbie! I love his name. For a dog, of course. :-) Thanks for introducing him! I need to introduce Winston soon, before the dog days are over! Pets are so precious.

LOL, Chubbie! We sort of inherited a Pug who was named Itsy-Bitsy by it's past owner. I just couldn't see myself standing on the back porch yelling for Itsy-Bitsy. She became Izzy because it was the only other thing she would respond to!
Your collection is quite cute!

Hi Julie ~ regarding the "comment above, someone clearly needs to get their own blog & stay off of yours!
at any rate, thanks for sharing a story about your dog. I can't imagine not having my dog Porter, aka Doodles, and we've had him less than a year. he's an Alaskan Husky, and he's absolutely gorgeous. he was only about 6 weeks when we got him, so we've been his "parents" for pretty much his whole life. animals become such a huge part of our lives, I can just cuddle Doodles when I'm upset & he makes me feel better. I'm currently on vacation at Jerusalem's house (a little bit of heaven!), and I miss my Doodles almost as much as I miss my husband! but, shhh, don't tell him that ;)

Chubbie is adorable. We just adopted a lab/newfie puppy from a no-kill shelter and coming up with a name that we wouldn't be embarrassed to call at the dog park was a high priority! I just love seeing photos of other people's dogs.

Your kids comments on Chubbie's name are too cute.

What a cute puppy. I like how his fluffiness glows n the sun! And that dachshund vase is adorable as well. We had a dachshund named Winnie and that looks just like her.
