cat stuff
I am a former cat "hater"...a long story but I was converted by a cat sitting stint I did for a friend. I never ever had any plans to have cats...much less multiple cats...but plans change.
When we first looked at our house, we walked around the yard before going inside. I was happy with the size of the yard (good for the kids) and then...I saw it...the chimney brace was shaped like a sitting black cat...I knew the house was mine.
When I found this flower at our local nursery, I also had to have it...it's called cat's whiskers.
and...just one more irritating cat picture (I promise!). It probably was not a great idea to bring a cat to kindergarten "pet show & tell day"...

Ooooh! I can't imagine owning a house like that and NOT having a cat!!!

I was never really a cat person myself - I much preferred dogs until I started volunteering at an animal shelter. There was one cat in particular - an all black, green eyed fellow who I helped care for. It didn't take him long to win me over and he ended up coming home with me and has ruled the roost ever since. We even ended up adopting another cat so he'd have a playmate while my husband and I are at work. Unfortunately the 2 boys did not bond as much as we had hoped, but secretly I think they both enjoy the companionship every now and then. When they think no one is watching, they'll sit side by side together in the window :)

LOL~! I know exactly what the cat must be thinking! I see that look on mine all the time when Caleb's around! (fabulous house!)

I love cats and had one growing up for 19 years. But now I'm deathly allergic.
I love your house! I miss the brick houses in the midwest. Ever think about growing catnip in your yard?

Well, the cat doesn't appear to think it was a good idea but I bet the kids did! I just love the charm of your house. I would never have been able to pass it up.

I'll bet there are all sorts of slivers of sun in that house that are routinely sought out by your kittens. Your home is so beautiful. I love the diamond latticed windows! It is so sad that houses today (like mine) don't have that much charm.

I love this post. I second the cat nip/cat mint suggestion. Although some cats act very strangely when they smell the real thing. My neighbors cats both peed themselves when she brought cat nip in the house the first time! They also made some weird moaning sound before she ever even opened the package. Granted, these were young cats and something very new to them. Still...
Anyone who is "owned" by a cat knows just how picky cats can be about using their litter boxes so this kind of behavior is really surprising. These kitties live near the "Hill".
The expression on your kitties face is so typical. I'm sure all the fondly required a 20 minute cleaning by said cat upon return home!

What an absolutely beautiful house you have! As for the cat's...I am a closet cat lover. We all have terrible allergies to cat's and still my kids beg for one. If I admit I like cats I would be doomed!
