blog project: after
As promised (what was I thinking!), here is my newly painted furniture...
I hope not everyone is thinking..."that's it?" I never thought the weather would play such a factor in my project...it's still raining here and impossible to get a really good picture.
I'm happy with it...I just love the shape of this dresser...look at the cool little feet. More pics...
I really admire those crafty girls that can also teach...I'm still not one of those. Would you like to see a tutorial from me where I:
No, believe me, you wouldn't. So anyway...I am happy I tried this blog experiment. The furniture really fits it's purpose in our little "retro" family room (that last pic is to give you an idea of the other furniture and stuff in the room)...and I told my husband that the dresser would look great with a nice new flat screen TV...so he's working on that. And all of this fun started with $18.18 at the thrift store...

You did a fantastic job! It looks great in your room!

I love how it turned out! It'll make a great addition to the retro look...

It looks amazing... and I hear you about the crazy rain. It is really making me sad - it hasn't stopped all week!

Subtle and elegant...a beautiful transformation! (Hey, I see picnic tins. I have a HUGE collection of them. Do you love them, too?)

It is so BEAUTIFUL! I Love it, especially the little label plackets. I really want to try to incorporate some more modern style pieces of furniture into my home. Your tutorial sounds like me. I always mess something up royally before I do it right!

Wow, what a terrific job you did. My passion is trash to treasure make-overs & I love it when people show them on blogs. The modern style on this piece is so neat - I love those legs and it looks great in the color choice & with the tags you added.
I get more motivated when I see blog projects - I'm in the process of sanding, priming & painting some thrift store chairs. I made the great discovery of spray can primer! I don't know why I never thought of that before, could be 'cuz of the need to be outside, fumes & all, but what a difference it makes in time & better coverage. I still use cans of paint to get the better choice of colors.
Keep up the good work! :)

Oh my gosh, it's fabulous! It looks brand new.

This post really made me laugh! I feel the same way about teaching! People REALLY do not want to know all the behind the scene disasters that occur during my projects! But the end result is amazing!! Great job, I just love it!

very cute! I love the label details.

It looks fantastic. I love the colour. I am curious what the letters and numbers on the drawer stand for? I had a similar experience painting an old antique dresser I had inherited. Funny I didn't realize I had the wrong colour until the second coat, but I ended up prefering the wrong colour.

I'm glad you took the sliding door(s) off. That piece looks great! I feel inspired. I'm on a hunt for a desk and might just try some local thrift shops around here.

you have inspired me to use those little drawer labels, SOOOO cute!
and i can relate to the shirt thing, ruined quite a few of those, and also spray-painted
really good shoes in the process too!

It looks great, Julie! I love the storage that it affords too. Nothing like putting some pressure on yourself, huh?

What a find! That looks great. I do this for a living ... I wish I could find bargains like that all of the time. I'd be a happy camper. Got any thrifting mojo you can pass on? Congratulations on completion of a project! Cheers to a lovely big screen TV soon to roost on your success.
